Features

A complete client, not a demo.

Everything on this page ships in the free, AGPL-3.0 build. Nothing is metered, nothing is held back to seed a paid tier, and nothing here will ever move behind a licence key.

Triage

One inbox for every account you own.

Add as many accounts as you like — Gmail and Zoho over OAuth2, everything else over passwords or app passwords. mimux keeps one IMAP connection per account, holds it open with IDLE, and falls back to polling when a server can't. New mail appears without a refresh.

  • Conversation threading that follows references across accounts and folders.
  • The full folder tree per account — inbox, sent, drafts, archive, spam, trash — plus a unified view across all of them.
  • Calendar invites render inline; accept or decline without leaving the message.

Keyboard

Inbox forty to inbox zero, hands on the home row.

Every action has a key. Press ? anywhere in the app for the live version of this table.

Compose

Write in Markdown. Send without regret.

Reply, reply-all and forward over your own SMTP — in plain text, rich text or Markdown, whichever the moment calls for. Drafts autosave locally as you type.

  • Undo-send holds every message for a beat after you hit send — long enough to catch the missing attachment.
  • Scheduled send for the reply you want to land Monday morning, not Saturday night.
  • AI compose & translate, bring-your-own-key. Optional drafting via OpenRouter and translation via Google Translate. Off by default; your keys live in your database and requests go straight from your server to the provider you chose.

Filters

Rules that work while you don't.

A straightforward rule engine: conditions in, actions out — move, label, forward, mark read, star, delete, notify. Rules run on your server as mail arrives, so the sorting is already done on every device you open.

No sieve scripts to learn, no per-device duplication, and when a rule files something you can see exactly which rule did it.

Everywhere

An app on your phone, without an app store.

mimux installs as a PWA on desktop and mobile, with an offline fallback to your last-synced inbox. Notifications reach you even when it's closed:

Web Push, end-to-end encrypted

Straight from your server to your devices. Payloads are encrypted, so the push relay in the middle sees noise, not your mail.

Or a POST to ntfy

Already running ntfy for everything else in your homelab? Point mimux at a topic and new-mail notifications join the stream.

Operations

Boring to run. That's the feature.

You will run this for years. It's built like it knows that.

Backup is cp

Accounts, credentials, cache, sessions, filters, tokens — one SQLite file holds all of it. Copy the directory, and you've backed up everything.

Zero required config

No config file. A fresh install boots with zero environment variables; everything else is edited in the UI and applies without a restart.

One small binary

A single Go binary serving htmx and Alpine.js. No node process, no Redis, no Postgres, no queue — nothing else to babysit at 2am.

All of it, free. Today.

One command and this whole page is running on your hardware.
